How To Live Happy Life (Part 1: First Undarstand What Real and Ultimate Happiness Isn’t)
Before we understand what true and ultimate happiness really is, let’s first understand what it isn’t. Because if you don’t realize what real happiness isn’t, you’ll keep running after things your whole life. That only leaves you feeling emptier than before. In fact, about 90% of people are chasing such hollow things, thinking they’ll lead to happiness, but all they do is drain you further. Strange, right?
But just look around—most people today aren’t really living… They’re just surviving, living just to feel good for a moment, not to truly feel alive.
And the gap between these two types of living is massive. If you rewind 150–200 years, the “eat, drink, enjoy” philosophy wasn’t even that popular. Back then, someone who lived only for pleasure was seen as third-class. But today, they’re called celebrities. Social media influencers and the flashy strategies of the business world have sold us a shiny, temporary version of happiness.
Eat great food … feel better.
Buy something new … feel lighter.
Scroll through reels … laugh, scroll again.
Get a raise, gain followers, find a sexy partner, get married, have kids, take loans for a house and car, and spend your whole life working for a boss you hate… Then, on a Sunday, take a selfie with a fake smile and write
“My life is so happy.”
But despite doing all of this, inside, it often still feels like something’s missing…
A strange emptiness, a hollow space that never goes away.
That’s because running after all these things might give you temporary pleasure, but never real, lasting joy. True and lasting happiness can’t be found outside.
Once you actually find that real, inner source of joy, you won’t feel the need to keep chasing all these things. Truth is, the ones who are constantly running after material pleasures are often the ones who are the most lost, unhappy, and unsettled inside. The more someone is obsessed with materialism, the more pain, dissatisfaction, and confusion they’re likely hiding inside.
Ever noticed why you sleep or eat excessively?
There’s a science to it. It’s not laziness—it’s disturbance.
People who are mentally or emotionally disturbed often feel abnormally hungry or tired. Endlessly scrolling reels makes your mind numb. Not because you’re lazy,
But because you’re suppressing heavy thoughts and feelings inside. And when the scrolling ends or your battery dies, that emptiness returns… and it hurts again.
You shop, you buy new things, new clothes…
But it only feels “new” for a moment. Soon, you feel that hollow craving again and head back to the shop. Let me tell you the truth: You could spend your whole life shopping. but you still won’t find true happiness.
Why? Because no matter how many new things you buy on the outside, you haven’t planted anything new or nourishing inside.
We often drown in endless gossip, debates, noise…
We think we’re “connected,” but we’re not fulfilled. It’s noise, not peace.
We chase money like it’s oxygen.
Ambition is good—but do we ever pause and ask, “What exactly am I going to do with all this money?” From the moment we’re born, death starts walking behind us. Yet most people live like they’ll never die. But you and I… we will die one day. Maybe today. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe in 10 years.
But that day will come. And this life is so short. Days fly by before we even notice. And what do we do in this short life? We keep running behind money. Behind things we think are most valuable. But no one ever told us.
There’s something even more precious than money or fame.
Something you can’t buy, even if you sold the whole world.
Truth is, money without meaning is just water. The more you drink, the thirstier you become.
Today, the entertainment industry is booming.
Comedy shows and web series—they give us a few laughs and some distraction.
But if you’re drowning in them every day, ask yourself:
“What exactly am I avoiding?”
“What pain am I pretending not to see?”
Fame on social media looks like love and acceptance…But it actually fuels comparison, anxiety, and emptiness. A high-paying job gives you stability, sure. But if it steals your dreams, your peace, and your soul, It’s just a well-paid prison.
Why This Awareness Matters?
Most of us don’t even realize how dangerous this cycle is. These things may give temporary comfort, but they keep you far away from real happiness.
As Buddha said—
All this craving, avoiding, and clinging…
It all leads to Dukkha (suffering).
So if someone is deeply addicted to these patterns, it doesn’t mean they’re happy. It means they’re trying to fill something that feels missing inside. Smiling isn’t always happiness. Making others laugh isn’t always peace. Sometimes, it’s just a mask. So if you still believe this is what happiness looks like, you’ll always feel incomplete. And that’s where the real shift begins:
Happiness isn’t something “out there.”
It’s not in things.
It’s not in others.
It’s within you.
